The PELCO easiSlicer™ introduces a new standard in vibratory slicing. It combines ease of operation, precise engineering and affordable pricing in a high quality instrument. The PELCO easiSlicer™ uses rigid construction and advanced engineering technologies to essentially eliminate backlash resulting in minimal Z-axis vibration normally associated with more expensive vibratory slicers. All operational controls are located on the front of the instrument, clearly labeled and sealed against moisture. The specimen tray is held securely in the polypropylene bath by a set of strong magnets. The bath is attached from the side with a unique spring-loaded base that locks onto the PELCO easiSlicer™ by simple pressure. The integrated bath and tray design allows them to move as a unit for sectioning thickness or height adjustment. The bath and tray can be easily separated for simple and fast clean-up, eliminating the risk of leaks and a cumbersome drain or hose.
The amplitude and speed controls are conveniently mounted in the center of the control panel for ease of operation. The instrument is supplied with a newly designed lever tightening blade holder set at a 15° cutting angle that accepts all knife thicknesses from Feather® blades to the thick Sapphire blade. Also available are blade holders for Feather® blades offered in two fixed cutting angles: 18° and 21°. The specialized design of these blade holders provides a secure and rigid grasp of the cutting blade. Feather® Blades are recommended for use with these 18° and 21° fixed cutting angle blade holders. The fixed cutting angle blade holders will accommodate other types of blades, but will not accept a Sapphire blade. The Sectioning Window Controls guide the user for precise cutting window control with indicator lights on the control panel.
The Magnifier and Light Assembly offers bright white LED lighting (no risk of high temperatures) with high or low settings, depending on the user’s need. The Magnifier can be moved out of the viewing path, if desired. The entire assembly operates smoothly on metal slides.
The large Section Thickness Knob is centrally located in the work area. The knob is labeled in microns and has a perceptible detent every 5 microns. One complete revolution of the knob is 100 microns. The entire bath and tray assembly is raised and lowered by this Section Thickness Knob. The PELCO easiSlicer™ has a Return Switch that provides the user with an option for Auto Return after each slice. In the Manual Return mode, the cutting will cease once the end of the section window has been reached. This allows the retraction of the specimen before the return of the blade in order to prevent damage to the specimen.
The PELCO easiSlicer™ comes equipped with tools and supplies to start cutting quality, consistent sections, right out of the box.

PELCO® Pro CA44 Tissue Adhesive

PELCO® Pro CA44 is an instant tissue adhesive based on cyanoacrylate. Developed to glue tissue on specimen holders used in vibratory microtomes. Although the tissue adhesive is instable in boiling water, it is recommended to use #19920 PELCO® Pro Cyanoacrylate Debonder to remove or clean cured cyanoacrylate. Supplied in 20ml bottle with dispenser tip, closed with PTFE coated steel pin for optimum seal. Comparable to Loctite 404 tissue adhesive.

Corning Costar® Tissue Culture Plates
Tissue Culture-treated Plates are designed for a wide range of applications including general cell growth experiments, cloning studies, virus isolation and in vitro testing.
Plate bottoms have a uniform thickness, allowing for distortion-free observation. Alphanumeric coordinates are placed on the same focal plane as cell growth, for convenient referencing of cell position. Gripping edges make handling easier.
All plates have non-reversible covers with condensation rings to minimize evaporation and the risk of contamination.
Plates are made of optically clear, medical-grade non-pyrogenic polystyrene, TC-treated, sterile and are used for processing of tissue on the bench or in the microwave. The corresponding Wellplate Inserts are No. 36168 for the 6 cavity, No. 36170 for the 12 cavity, and No. 36172 for the 24 cavity.

SecureSeal™ Sealing Film
SecureSeal™ is a thermal adhesive sealing film which consists of 2.0 mil polyolefin film coated on one side with pressure sensitive acrylate adhesive. Designed to reduce spill-over and well to well contamination in tissue culture plates, SecureSeal™ also minimizes evaporation and vapor loss for PCR applications.
This film has low autofluorescence and is functional from -70°C to +100°C. Certified RNase, DNase and DNA-free; DMSO resistant. Available in sterile and non-sterile packages.
