Sponge Block

A PVA material specially developed for cleaning debris from blades and knives. It works very well on sapphire knives, scalpel blades, microtome blades, Vibratome blades, diamond scribers and mini-tools. The PVA material wicks liquids instantaneously for a fast and sure cleaning.

Available in two versions:

• The Wedge Tip on a Plastic Holder (#122-11), when dipped in a liquid, the material expands and becomes soft. Top photo above is shown dry/unused; bottom photo is shown expanded after dampening with water. This version is to clean saphhire and vibratory knives. A wiping cleaning action may be applied to the knife-edge. The wedge tip may be used multiple times and the shape or size allows safe use.
• The Sponge Block (#122-20) is used in the same manner as the wedge on larger knives and microtome blades. The sponge type material stays rigid when using alcohol as a cleaning fluid and assists in removing debris from the knife-edges.
