Model 3500 Premium (35.P.000)
The diamond wire saws of the 3000 series are highly appreciated, especially in laboratories, thanks to their sophisticated design and ease of use. Over 1,800 3000 series saws have been distributed worldwide to date.
This series has been manufactured to industry standard for over 40 years. It is worthy of note that the first machine delivered by Well Diamond Wire Saws SA is still in service today.
The new 3000 series is now available in 3 models (3100, 3400 and 3500). Two versions of the 3500 model are available: a “Base” version and a “Premium” version. Designed to meet market demands, the following features are common to all models:

THE CUTTING PRINCIPLE OF THE WELL PRECISION DIAMOND WIRE SAW MODEL 3500
The WELL 3500 wire saw is a versatile model commonly used in laboratories. The cut is made by the movement of the wire on a workpiece that is bonded or clamped to a fixed support.
All WELL diamond wire saws use a drum with precision threaded grooves machined into the surface to hold the diamond wire in place. The 10-metre-long diamond wire is attached and wound on the drum by a winding device, mounted on a lead screw of the same size as the drum and connected to a motor that rotates in both directions.
The constant force (feed speed) of the wire against the sample is obtained by gravity. The feed speed is determined by the resistance of the material, which is thus not subjected to mechanical stress. The saw motor housing is guided by precision guides on ball bearings. In addition to the possibility of adjusting the force of the wire, its speed is also adjustable via a continuously variable potentiometer.
Model 3500 cuts samples with the wire travelling vertically. The sample can be positioned inside or outside the loop thereby allowing for accurate positioning prior to and viewing of the sample during the cutting process. The sample holder is attached to a vertical fixed table. Tensioning of the wire is also accomplished through the use of weights. Very often users choose to mount a microscope on the saw so that accurate positioning of the diamond wire can more readily be accomplished or to watch the cut or slice while in progress.
The vertical table position can be changed over vertical and left-right directions for correct positioning of sample in respect of cutting wire. An optional micrometric table can be ordered for precise positioning over left-right direction and for cutting of slices with precise thickness.
Model 3500 Base (35.B.000)
The grooved table enables the adaptation of different types of sample holders and accessories for precise positioning of the sample (micrometer table, vices, goniometers, dividers, bonding media, USB / WIFI microscope, etc.).
To adapt the useful length of the diamond wire according to the workpiece, the work area can be modified by moving the tensioner pulley.

WELL MODEL 3500 BASE
For the 3500 "Base" model, a grooved table forms the base on which samples are attached, which can be achieved by various methods. The sawing mechanism is fixed on a precise guide and moves by gravity against the sample through the inclination of the base of the machine (horizontal frame). The feed function is thus provided simply and reliably, in the form of a variable pressure force.
The work area, which is identified by several colours, adapts to the size of the sample, between the axes of the pulley and drum. The saw can thus be used optimally.
Larger samples can also be cut, since they are placed outside the loop. The USB / WIFI microscope cannot be installed on this version.

WELL MODEL 3500 PREMIUM
This model has been designed to satisfy numerous demands from users.
The WELL 3500 "Premium" wire saw is identical to the 3500 "Base" saw, but accepts a series of additional accessories. Thanks to these, visualisation of the cutting point is significantly improved because the sample is located inside the wire loop. With the wire as a reference before the start of the cut, the sample can be rotated (if the rotating table is selected in configuration), repositioned by 90° or moved laterally (x-axis) with precision (if the micrometric table is selected in configuration). In this way, the cut can be precisely targeted at the desired point.

The 3500 "Premium" model allows the workpiece to be placed inside the diamond wire loop. This feature allows you to precisely observe the positioning of the workpiece as well as the cutting process. An adjustable electronic stop function informs the unit when the desired cut depth is reached: the motor then stops automatically.
The saw can be fitted with a USB / WIFI 10x to 140x microscope to accurately visualise the cutting point.
Operation of the WELL 3500 "Premium" diamond wire saw
The cut is made by the movement of the wire on a workpiece that is bonded or clamped to a fixed support. This feed is automatically achieved by gravity. The pressure exerted by the cutting tool (the diamond wire) on the sample is adjustable. The feed speed is determined by the resistance of the material, which is thus not subjected to mechanical stress.
The grooved table allows the adaptation of different types of sample holders and accessories for precise positioning of the sample (vices, goniometers, dividers, bonding media, USB / WIFI microscope, etc.). It also allows the operator to position the sample in both axes while the sample holder rotates 360° for proper orientation of the appropriate cutting axis. The 3500 "Premium" model enables the operator to position the sample inside the wire loop, thus providing an unobstructed view for positioning and monitoring the cut in progress. In addition, two micrometers are provided as standard on this version - one for precise sample positioning, the other to adjust the depth of a slice or cut. An adjustable electric limit switch informs the unit when the desired depth of cut is achieved and the motor stops automatically.

WELL MODEL 3500 NC
The WELL 3500 "NC" diamond saw is equipped with a table with programmable movement and automatic cutting feed. Its user-friendly interface makes it easy to program.
