IceBerg™ Cold Plate & Base

The IceBerg™ Cold Plate and Base is an innovative solution designed to cool tissue blocks before sectioning. Cooling gel enables the IceBerg™ Cold Plate to retain cold temperatures. A cold plate pre-cooled to -20°C for between 3-5 hours will allow you to chill blocks for a period of up to four hours, at room temperature.

The IceBerg™ Cold Plate is comprised of a molded insulated base and a removable rugged aluminum cold plate. The cold plate is stored in a cryostat or freezer compartment while not in use.

The large work surface allows up to 36 blocks to be cooled at one time. The base collects any condensate formed, keeping the bench and floor dry.
